My opinion of everyday training, all day, is still being formed. Some people find they make great progress, others burn out. Grease the groove is an all day everyday thing. What I question is whether or not your joints need downtime to rejuvenate. GTG could be the fastest way to strength gains, but it could also be the fastest way to retirement. Possibly, before your goals are met.

I guess it depends on how much you want to live for an exercise. Bottom line, it is not necessary for good progress. It might not even be worth it, time wise.

You said one thing about pushing as hard as possible everyday. To truly push yourself as hard as possible, day in and day out, is suicide. You will overtrain, and get injured, or other crazy bodily function. Everybody has their breaking point. If it were that simple, everybody would be the incredible hulk, and PCP would be the performance enhancer of choice.

Everything those two said is awsome. When i first saw this place, i was..... injured. By the time i was well enough to workout, i was so anxious and jittery that i worked out every day. I burned out NASTY and just kept getting weaker. To every man his own. Now im on a one day on, one day off kinda deal. If my workout is really intense i may give my body two days off. Your body is a great measure and very effective at telling you how much rest you need.

I used to be a big fan of training daily, but now I've changed my mindset and would rather avoid injury. I've been getting injured more often lately, so I'm gonna cut down on how often I train.

I figure that the level of strength that I'm going for isn't absolutely necessary for my lifestyle, so I shouldn't be in a rush to get it. Plus, it'll keep me interested.

I'm going to focus more on just being active, especially with summer approaching. I know that I won't have enough time for organized/formal workouts more than 3 times a week, but I'll definitely be playing more sports and just being active. Training can definitely be fun, but there are other fun ways of being active too. Try finding new sports and hobbies to try out. I know this year I want to give kayaking and rock climbing a try. I recently started,

raja basically said what i was going to say. I would train every day if it wasn't for constantly having one injury after the other, right now im having some pretty bad cubital tunnel which i hope will resolve soon.

Rest is necessary! I was of the same belief that I could train 24/7 but burnt out and got some injuries.

I had similar to what domiNATE had ulnar nerve entrapment sometimes after a workout would have pins and needles in hands like when you hit your funny bone of the elbow.

5 hard training days and two rest. But in rest days don't sit on the sofa with beer in your hands. Do shadowboxing, stretching, a little running.
