They aren't all strict, dead-hang, no-kip. It is impressive, however. Crazy endurance.

this is a great performance. Have someboby already tried a 8 min deadhang ? No, try it let us know about the burn, and then imagine is you had to do 77 pull up.
Congratulation man cheers cheers

-skinny bar

-flexible bar creating a trampoline effect

-pulling up not even 90 degrees then changing his pull to a circular route up and around the bar creating momentum to complete the movement

-light weight clothing including no shoes and no sleeves to interfere with motion

-body built as a marathon runner meaning he has primarily slow twitch muscle allowing for a greater amount of endurance

-the longer dead hangs allow for the bicep to be fully stretched and lengthened which reduces strain and may also make the mental account of how many pull ups he's doing more obtainable... doing one pull up then a break translates into the thought "Anybody can do one pull up right?"

-encouragement from surrounding people

-no wind and uncomfortable temperatures

This is not to discredit is work, which is really impressive, but to throw out some ideas how he managed something like that. I've taken a few things away from this video to try out myself. I'm curious if he used any powder for his hands before he began. I'm also wondering if not using the thumbs would cause the arms less strain, but keeping grip on the bar would be more of a challenge. The use of thumbs requires the use of your forearms which would soon become tense and just something else unwilling to move. Maybe the use of thumbs gives more of a sense of control and confidence... it does for me.

hahahahahahahahahahaha

I'm with you, Doing an 8 min dead hang alone is impresive enough. I challenge anybody to do it for half that time. Impresive indeed.
