| Just wondering if anyone here also does much running, suppose you could just say it's another form of bodyweight exercise....
Just been on a 16 mile run today with rucksack so slightly sore now, longest run I've done yet and it's quite nice running for 2hrs 15 mins or so. Got a running/cycling orienteering race week on Sunday (2hr run and 3hr cycle) so training for that (www.dynamicadventureracing.com).
Spent most of the morning doing bodyweight exercises as well, first the 2nd stage of the planche progression videos posted here before breakfast and pullups and failing a bit at freestanding handstands afterwards (along with various pressups). |

| long distance running builds endurance legs.. be it skinny legs. if u want explosive strenght and nice muscular legs, go sprinting.. or HIIT (30 sec sprint, 30 sec light jog, etc.) at least thats from what i know and from my experience. sprints also work great for fat loss.. then again so does any cardio. its all upto u. |

| I try to go for a 30 minute run, 2-3 times a week. |

| behlzor is right. sprints are way better for athletic performance, muscle building, and fat loss without losing muscle. |

| I will be doing speed training as well (especially once back at school for the 3000 and 5000m) but I just enjoy being able to go on long runs, and probably will do a marathon this summer because there's a local one. |

not always true... yes its builds the endurance in your legs. but i have been running long distance for years and my legs arent small. the reason for that is i train them with pistols and weighted pistols and other leg training. so if you dont train them along with it then yes they willget a lil smaller. |

| I do other leg training as well, especially with fencing and a fair bit of mountain biking and although it won't cause the same increase in size I personally think it's a more useful combination of strength and endurance. |

in that case.. ure pretty safe. biking builds big legs, enduro running cuts them.. so ure good in every case |
