PostSubject: Handstand Balance Problem    Fri Oct 29, 2010 5:09 am

hey barmates!

I can feel it when i want to fall backwards, with my hands and forearm strenght i can easily keep my body straight and not to fall backwards (not to land on my butt)...

But i dont know what muscle i should use/flex when i want to fall back to my starting position ( to this position: http://i.ehow.co.uk/images/a04/kj/sl/do-forward-roll-handstand-1.2-120X120.jpg )

So my problem isnt that i want to fall backwards, i can handle that...But when i begin to fall back to my starting position (where from i kick myself up to a handstand), i cant do anything to solve the balance issue.

What should i do to not to fall back?

Ahh, i really hope u understand what i mean.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

greetings

so.. u are in a handstand, and ure falling back on your feet?
well thats simple.. just arch your back and move your body a lil bit more to the opposite way.. it would be kind of like moving your arms closer to your body while keeping them straight. in a handstand it would tip your balance to the opposite side.
check youtube also lol

when you start to fall back to your feet, bend your elbows a little more. thats what i do, and it works for me.

It helps to put more pressure on the palm of you hands. Pretty much the opposite of if your falling forward you press your fingers into the ground. You could think of it like when your standing on your feet if you were falling backwards your natural reaction is to dig your heels into the ground to not fall and if you fall forward you will press your toes into the ground to stay up. Same thing with a handstand.
