Has anyone tried this ( www.fiftypullups.com ) or any of the other ones done in the same style ( www.hundredpushups.com , www.twohundredsquats.com )? I'm trying to work on getting high numbers up on certain exercises (I want to get at least 100 push ups in one set, 50 dips, etc. just for the sense of accomplishment really) and I was wondering if these were worth it to do or just focus on pyramids or do a couple sets of max reps of perfect form. Any insight to these particular programs or advice on programs that have been effective for you to get higher reps would be appreciated.

I just checked out the 50pull-up website and the info seems good. You should also take a look at my 50 pull-up challenge for my thoughts on how to train for this feat.

Thanks Al! I like that idea of training. Somehow I did not see that particular article when I've been devouring your website. By the way, not meaning to be a brown noser, but thanks for that site. I like your style and philosophy when it comes to training. Your book is on my Christmas list, haha.

Glad you like this one - there are a lot of posts on my blog so it'll take a while to get through all of it.
Btw, my book makes an excellent holiday gift! |

That particular set of programs doesn't have a dip program. I'm probably going to be borrowing the rep and set scheme from the push-up version to use for dips as well. I'm not sure if I want to cut down on the total number of reps to make it 50 or to stick with the 100 that the push-up program works towards. I'm definitely not leaving dips out of my workouts if that's what you thought. I love dips!
