PostSubject: I thought I had a limit? When is too much enough?   Wed Dec 14, 2011 11:54 am

Today I was doing my normal routine, yet something strange happened. Around the time when I usually start to get tired its like my body regenerated or something, like I started my workout all over. This made me exceed my usual routine by almost 20 minutes. When I usually finish my workout I cant even do a single push up let alone a pull up XD. For example when i felt as if i I could only do 1 more push up I motivated myself to do 10 and ended up doing 20. I could have kept going yet I stopped my self in fear of muscle loss. Should this be something I should be worried about, muscle loss? I'm guessing this is just normal as I am progressing but when is enough?

So long as you eat enough (particularly protein since that would be why your body would matabolise muscle) you will not lose muscle through exercising.

What you experienced is called a second wind... quite often an adrenaline driven thing :-)

Too intense training leads to overtraining and not loss or burning muscle. Muscles shrink if you eat not enough, or you stop training Very Happy

Take a break for a while

@Determination how things bro?!

Sounds like your living up to your name all ready. Just do you if you feel strong do your sets you can't over train on body weight execise's trust m ive been doing thi for a while, your body will let you know whens its time to rest for a certain amount of day's so listen to it, warm the joints & muscle's good before the workout also do as my good friend Tim said n just eat.

More of strength/ endurance is mental than you would first believe- back when I was just doing push ups and pull ups, if I'd done 40 push ups, I'd think `this is about what I normally do` and around then they'd feel even harder...so I'd stop.

One day I was feeling full of energy, so went to break my record, I'd never done 50, did that easily, then shot for 60, I got to almost 70, just by setting myself new goals as I was going- and shooting for the next one.
