So I had been hearing lately that Herschel Walker was a big advocate for bodyweight training throughout his football career. I looked it up and it turns out that Herschel Walker (NFL and college football star) didn't touch weights until college and continued his bofdweight training to this day. His routine is:

-2,500 sit ups
-1,500 push ups
-1,500 pull ups
-1000 dips

Those numbers are correct. He did all of those every morning, everyday, never skipping one.

I was wondering what the bar-barian community though of this. I am in big favor of high reps, but this is pretty ridiculous. Also, do you think he did all of this before breakfast? Also, Hershel Walker's body must have been used to it, but doing the same exercises everyday must lead to some overtraining. Please post your thoughts

Heres a video on Walke talking about his training:

well.. he could do that if he took like at least 2 hours every morning if he was used to it.
i just doubt he could do it all at once.
pushups are fairly easy for 2 hours i guess. dips and pulls not so much.

I have yet to read that this was all in a day, or even everyday.

I can respect that people can do those kinda figures. But I just don't see the point in doing such crazy figures.

It's good to have muscular endurance, but how much muscular endurance do you realistically need in everyday life? What are you actually achieving if you do 2,000 pressups a day compared to 1,000? Just a number.

On the other side of the spectrum, look at strength training, you see guys bench pressing 500 pounds yet can't even do 5 pullups! Just a number again.

I think there's two spectrums, muscular endurance and muscular strength, this guy is obviously at the peak of the muscular endurance spectrum, I'd rather be somewhere in the middle between these spectrums.
